Samsung’s upcoming foldable and tablet could break the bank with a €100 price hike

Samsung is known for its premium devices, but its upcoming products could set new records for high prices. According to a report by SamMobile, the Galaxy Z Fold5 and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra could be 100% more expensive than their predecessors.

The report claims that the Galaxy Z Fold5 will have a starting price of $3,999, which is double the price of the Galaxy Z Fold3 that launched last year. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, on the other hand, will reportedly cost $2,499, which is also twice the price of the Galaxy Tab S7+.

The reason for these hefty price tags is said to be the use of new technologies and materials. The Galaxy Z Fold5 is expected to feature an under-display camera, a 120Hz LTPO display, and a titanium frame. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will allegedly sport a 14.6-inch OLED display, a Snapdragon 898 processor, and a 12,000mAh battery.

These specifications are impressive, but they may not justify such a huge increase in price. Samsung may face some backlash from consumers who are already struggling with the economic impact of the pandemic. Moreover, Samsung may face stiff competition from other brands that offer more affordable foldable and tablet devices.

Samsung has not confirmed or denied these rumors, so we should take them with a grain of salt. The company is expected to unveil its new products in February 2023 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Until then, we can only hope that Samsung will reconsider its pricing strategy and offer more value for money to its loyal customers.
