The Qualcomm SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (4 nm) Octa-core CPU powers the Xiaomi Black Shark 5 RS. An OLED capacitive touchscreen with a 6.67-inch diagonal is used, with a 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution.

In the back, there are three cameras: one with 108 MP (wide) and another with 13 MP (ultrawide) and 5 MP (telephoto macro). Front-facing 16MP camera (wide). The smartphone's Non-removable Li-Po 4650 mAh + Fast Charging 120W battery provides plenty of juice, with a full charge taking only 15 minutes (advertised).

256 GB and 512GB of internal storage are supported by the Android 12 and Joy UI 13 operating systems. There are three different RAM sizes available: 8 GB, 12 GB and 16 GB. There are three colour possibilities for the device: black and white.

Fingerprint (side-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer are all included in the sensor set. USB Type-C 2.0, GPS, and Bluetooth 5.2 are also supported.
