A new Android 12 update for the LG Velvet has been released

In April of last year, LG declared its intention to exit the smartphone market, and the company’s manufacturing operations were halted at the end of May. In the intervening time, several of LG’s mobile division software engineers have been retained on the payroll, and their work has been disclosed today.

We’re discussing the LG Velvet’s Android 12 upgrade. Seriously. Since it’s now available in Korea, we can safely conclude that this is the Velvet 5G variant and not the 4G model that was first announced on the company’s forum.

However many Velvets are still being used by people in Korea, the update should begin going out today, but it may take a few days (or even weeks) to reach all the devices.
Although Xiaomi/Redmi is one of the most successful mobile companies, it’s fantastic to see a dead company upgrading to the latest version of Android when they plan to launch new Android 11 devices in 2022 (yeah, we are looking at you, Xiaomi/Redmi!).
However, there will be no more Velvet updates in the near future.
