It Has Been the Best Quarter in the History of the Indian PC Market

It was the best quarter in the Indian PC market’s history, with 4.5 million desktops, laptops, and workstations sold. As compared to last year’s Q3, this represents a 30% increase in sales.

For perspective, in Q3 of 2021, the year before the pandemic, more PCs were shipped than were shipped in the entire year of 2019.

3.6 million notebooks were shipped in the third quarter of 2019, an increase of 28 percent from the same period in 2020. The number of desktop computers grew by 30 percent in the third quarter of this year compared to the same period last year. This year’s increase in the number of workstations was a whopping 146% over last year’s figure of just 90,000 units.

According to a breakdown of the number of devices shipped, HP maintained its position at the top and increased its shipment by 1.2 million. It was Dell who came second, beating out Lenovo.

Indian PC sales totaled 4.4 million units, an increase of more than one million over the previous year.
