In Windows 10, you can speed up your text creation by pressing Windows+h to leverage Microsoft’s speech recognition engine. While it may already be set up for you on your computer, you will likely have to head over to your computer’s settings to turn it on.

First, you need to access the Windows Settings. Open your Start menu and select the gear icon to complete this action. Additionally, you can hit Windows+I on your keyboard to reach that location.

In the event that you don’t speak any of the supported languages, keep in mind that speech recognition is only possible in English, French, German, Spanish, Mandarin, and Japanese. Hit Windows+Ctrl+s to turn on or off the computer’s voice recognition capabilities instantaneously.

The first time you use speech recognition, you will have to customise it to work with your voice.

Setting up a microphone with a desktop, mobile, or headset microphone is required for basic functionality. Then, follow the instructions that pop up on your computer to select and set up your microphone. When using dictation software, a headset mic is the preferred option.

Say the phrase from the software onto your microphone, and the programme will catch your voice and understand your speech when you use it.

As soon as the setup is finished, you can start talking and typing at the same time!
