As a result of an actively exploited flaw, Apple released iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3

Apple has released iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3 today, the latest updates for its mobile devices. In order to solve a memory corruption flaw that has been aggressively exploited, these patches should be accessible for devices that are still supported and installed as quickly as feasible.

Safari’s WebKit implementation also had a problem that allowed any website employing a JavaScript API to access the names of databases generated by other websites within the same browser session.

Because some websites utilize user-specific identifiers in their database names, even personal information could be exposed in this way, it is possible to spy on other websites that you visited while Safari was open.

Since Apple requires third-party browsers to use its rendering engine on iOS and iPadOS, this affects not only Safari but also Chrome. Other security flaws have been addressed in iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3, and the whole list can be found in the source code listed below. Despite the fact that this update does not include any new features, the number of security flaws it addresses make it worthwhile.

If you haven’t received a notification from your iPhone or iPad about a new update and are eager to obtain it, simply go to Settings > General > Software Update.
